The puppy immune defenses from birth to vaccination
May
Newborn puppies are at risk of developing infectious diseases, because their immune system is in development and immune memory is absent. The efficacy of vaccination might be affected by different factors including vaccine scheduling and the neutralization of the vaccine targets by maternal antibodies.
We have the honor and pleasure to have Dr Paola Dall’Ara, DVM, Associate Professor of Veterinary immunology at Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Milan as the invited speaker to our third webinar:
“The puppy immune defenses from birth to vaccination”
Participants will find out about the processes related to the development of the puppies’ immune system and its implications to canine health. During the webinar, Professor Dall’Ara will also answer important questions such as:
– what is the difference between passive and active immunization
– when does immune competence begin in a puppy
– when can a puppy vaccination protocol begin and end
– what are the current puppy vaccination protocols
– why certain food ingredients are important in the health of the immune system
– what is the role of the gut microbiome in neonatal immunity
– what are the reasons a vaccinated puppy may not develop effective immunity
– are adverse vaccine reactions possible in puppies
When: May 28 at 7 pm CET
